Up until today Subsonic has been working great. I made no changes but i was unable to connect to my server remotely either via the website or from my Subsonic Android App.

Problem Description: Unable to connect remotely to my subsonic music server
Server shows the following error: Status: justindanthony.subsonic.org is registered, but could not connect to it. (ConnectTimeoutException)
Android App error: Connection failure: Didn't understand the reply. Please check server address

Troubleshooting Steps: I have tried using a different port, assigning a static IP

Server Version: jetty-6.1.x, java 1.6.0_24, Windows 7 (29.4 MB / 51.2 MB)

Hardware Platform: Windows 7

Go to http://www.canyouseeme.org/ enter your SS port number and click the Check box to be sure the Subsonic port is open.

Never use port 80 or 443 - ISP's often use or block them and these are also the default ports on WHS for the remote login page. 8080,8081, work fine. 808X always works. I've seen others use different port numbers that have caused install failures.

In Subsonic Settings/Network - UNCHECK " Automatically configure your router to allow incoming connections to Subsonic (using UPnP or NAT-PMP port forwarding)." make sure to hit the SAVE button, you may have to scroll down to see it depending on your screen size. UPnP or Plug & Pray works sometimes, but not very often and you're better off learning what's going on anyway. You're dipping your toe into the network mgmt. thing anyway, might as well learn what's going on as home networks don't get simpler as time goes on. As your network gets more complex, you're going to have to learn this stuff! No time like the present.

"Java Memory Limit: 40 MB" - Open SS Control Panel and make sure memory is set to at least 100MB

Thank you for the help. When you mentioned the port number website that triggered me to think about my machine.

Come to find out for some reason my firewall on my Windows 7 box stopped accepting traffic, so i changed to port to 8081 and configured the firewall for that new port and everything is working great again.

As my home network continues to expand and become more complex, I find it increasingly important to do long term logical planning to keep everything easier to administer.

Just a suggestion for home network layouts:

Server 1 - 192.168.1.240 - http port 8080 - https port 440
Server 2 - 192.168.1.241 - http port 8081 - https port 441
Server 3 - 192.168.1.242 - http port 8082 - https port 442
Skip 8083,443 to avoid the 443

Server 4 - 192.168.1.244 - http port 8084 - https port 444

and so on as needed. It really helps when your setting up or editing your router when your assignments are well thought out and logical.
