Subsonic Forum

Hi,

I've been loving and using Subsonic for around a month or so, and the search function has never worked for me, neither on the browser interface nor the Android app.

I've manually updated the search index and the log tells me it does, but no luck whatsoever when I try to search. I'm stumped. I've looked for solutions here, but to no avail.

Now, another issue... when I took a look this morning at the browser (and Android interface) the Random feature doesn't work any more. What the heck? No idea at all what is going on there. I use that feature nearly every day, so its rather disappointing.

Start with a fresh Java install to the latest version. If you have Java already, uninstall, then do a clean install of the latest version. If you use a 64 bit browser be sure to get both 32 & 64 bit Java.

Then, just try reinstalling SS right over the existing install. This will retain your current settings and may fix the issue.

ok, this is totally bizarre, but I didn't do anything and suddenly today, both the random and search work, for the first time ever!

strange, but cool.

Both are very tied to the indexing process... sounds like last night's index update worked finally.
