Setting up subsonic for external access

I'm trying to setup my subsonic server so that I can access it externally. I'm using dyndns right now but if it works I plan to direct it to a domain name I own.

I port forwarded the subsonic port on my router but subsonic keeps telling me the port is not forwarded. I can access the server fine if I use the XXX.subsonic.org path, but not when I use http://IP_ADDRESS:PORT or the dyndns address.

When I try to access it, I get this error:

Code: Select all
HTTP ERROR: 404

NOT_FOUND

RequestURI=/

Powered by jetty://

What am I missing? Thanks.

What version are you running? (windows,mac,etc)

If you running windows try this, open subsonic contral panel, on the settings tab where it says context path. You will have to use that path if one is set there example

http://IP:PORT/PATH

or

http://192.168.1.x:4040/subsonic

if its just a "/" set as the context path then its just

http://IP:PORT/

If you can access using the xxxx.subsonic.org address, but nit the ip:port address, then the ip:port address you're using is not correct. The fact that your getting through frrom outside with the subsonic.org address indicates that the proper port is open. Verify the port# and ip address both on your router and the SS Control Panel.
