no problem connecting on 3g, but can not connect through Wif

Ok i have searched for this but did not see any one else having this issue, everything else seems to be opposite. i had no problem accessing from 3g worked right out tof the box, but can not get it to connect through my wifi at home. it says network error and retries 1 through 4. i am pulling my hair out on this one, love this whole idea and ready to donate if i can get that wifi working, so any help i can get if anyone has had similar problem, and figured it out let me know.

i using window 7 and netgear WNDR 3300

Are you using the subsonic.org DNS functionality (i.e. registering some site.subsonic.org in the network config? Try opening a web browser on a pc on your wifi and see if it can connect. Now try on the subsonic server itself (in a web browser head to the subsonic.org address).

This is my guess:
The subsonic server will resolve to the local ip address when you are on the same WAN connection as your subsonic server. Not entirely sure why, but it does offer a good performance improvement. However, this requires a loopback functionality on your home router - something many don't have. Google the forum for loopback and you'll find some answers. Easy solution is to use a dyndns address instead of a subsonic.org address (leave the subsonic address configured - gives you two to use if for some reason the dyndns daemon dies on your machine, or if subsonic.org is down which happens from time to time).

Just use your internal ip address and port # when you're inside the network.

I thank both of you for your help, i was not able to connect from another computer on my network, but was able to connect from browser on the server computer, i was able to connect from the other computer by using the servers internal address and port.

i began to look for the loop-back information, when something clicked, not sure if i seen the word java or what but i decided to update my java, and then restarted the server computer, took a deep breath grabbed my droid and pulled up the app and using my wifi was able to connect immediately without any further issue!!! WoW been working on this all day, i figured it was something very simple.

So any one out there having any connection issues might want to make sure your java is up to date!!
