Hello everyone I am trying to set up my subsonic for use by an android phone. I currently have all my music saved on an external hdd that is attached to my belkin share300 router. I have tried to add this folder to subsonic on the laptop that has the helper app installed. but I still get the red message at the top that says folder not found. I HAVE followed the instructions from monroeworld and given subsonic the proper log in and rights but still no help. does anyone have the fix for this. my file path is z:\itunes music\ music

Also I copied a few songs to a folder on desktop and added that folder to subsonic, just to see if the music would be found. This folder was recognized immediately. But a few songs did not show up in subsonic. I noticed that the songs that failed to show says that they are protected when I mouse over the files. is this normal? how can I fix this also?

What is Z: mapped to?

Go to a command prompt (start->Run->CMD<enter>)

Type "Net Use" (no quotes) and hit enter.

In the list there should be a Z:\ and next to it the remote location.

Let's just say it says "\\Server\Music" in the remote location field...

Set your Subsonic music location to "\\Server\Music\itunes music\music"

I bet it will work then.

The problem is that Z:\ is not mapped to that network location for the user account that Subsonic is running under. There are ways to try to make that work with the Z:\ but they are just workarounds. The correct way is to use the full UNC path.
