Subsonic stops playing on random

I have been experiencing an annoying problem that started a few months ago. The player would stop at the random place. I can move to the next or previous track but the offending track would not play unless I close and re-open the browser (any browser). The same songs would play fine in any other external player.
I have deleted the index file and disabled indexing and port forwarding , increased memory settings to 1024MB but the problem stays the same.
I have been using Subsonic for over a year now.
Any suggestion would be highly appreciated .

Experiencing the same problem here - some help would be greatly appreciated. Though I don't have to actually close my browser. Simply going back to the song allows it to play again. If I skip to the exact location where it cut out and moved to the next song in the playlist, it STUTTERS it's way past the previous cutoff section. This happens nearly EVERY song in particular tracks.
They're .mp3 files and they're not VBR.

Same issue- the only thing that 'fixes' the issue for me is changing the player type in the web browser.
the song appears to download then suddenly stops playing - usually early on after initial failure. Again changing the player type helped to finally listen through the entire song.

I have this issue... I'ts infuriating.
It only does it with certain files though. I'm currently trying to see if I can get through a whole Chopin nocturne. It hasn't stopped quite yet. It continually stops on another album I have.

Bump. I just started noticing this a few days ago. There doesn't seem to be any pattern with which tracks it will fail for. Once it fails it will continue to do so until i close the window. Switching players doesn't always work.
4.5 (build 2385) – August 11, 2011
jetty-6.1.x, java 1.6.0_23, Windows 7 (43.8 MB / 92.6 MB)
edit: I did some packet inspection and I don't see anything wrong, it just stops. Does anyone have any ideas for what else to look at to try to pinpoint the issue?

I have no solutions but if anyone has similar problems if they could give post here with details of OS & Subsonic version
(Well done beat and jrad) and the browser, the type of file eg mp3?, bitrate vbr or cbr that may help the devs to isolate the bug.

Same problem here, totally random, or so it seems.
Environment :
- ubuntu 11.10
- flash player version "11.0.1.152".
- Chromium 14.0.835.202
- subsonic 4.5 (build 2384)
- JWPlayer 5.6.1768
The music file is an MP3 320kbps, duration 5:59, size 13.7 Mb.
For this file, the music stopped randomly 5-6 times.
No network problem, the file was preloaded fine.
This is reproductible, I can send the file if necessary.

Note : downloading the mp3 file from subsonic, playing it with mplayer, works ok.
