Well, I'm still having search problems, but it may be my expectation, rather than a problem with Subsonic, so if someone could confirm this, I would appreciate it.
So, I upped the memory limit to 480 MB, so that should be plenty of memory. After I run the search indexing, my log reports that it has been successfully created:
- Code: Select all
[2011-04-16 16:26:06,299] INFO SearchService - Created search index with 52000 entries.
[2011-04-16 16:26:07,895] INFO SearchService - Updating Lucene search index.
[2011-04-16 16:26:15,119] INFO SearchService - Created search index with 52165 entries.
Upping the limit on memory seemed to help this process, as my original search terms are returning results.
That said, I have many compilation albums of film music, as well as soundtracks--and other compilations for that matter--with different artists on the same album. My expectation is that, as these are set in the tags of the FLACs/MP3s, doing a search on one such artist would have his/her name return in the "Artists" category in the search results. Some do return in the "Songs" category, however.
The reason this is important at this point is that I am using iSub on my iPhone, where I can only search by Artist, Albums or Songs. It seems counterintuitive to search for songs by a given artist using the Songs option.
Also, in many of my Classical FLACs--and the occasional MP3--is that I have the composer in the Composer field, as opposed to the Artist field, where the actual performer is listed (e.g. Berliner Philharmonic (Artist), Ludwig van Beethoven (Composer)). Is this supported.
Thanks!
