Unable to access NAS drive content

I have a wireless NAS (NetGear Stora) drive mapped. It is where most of my music is. The wireless NAS has it's own login. Subsonic does not recognize the mapped drive. I assume that it is because Subsonic doesn't have credentials to access the drive. I can't figure out how to resolve this. I think it is more of a NAS issue... I think I need to provide my admin account on my computer access to the NAS drive and then run the subsonic service as that admin account... but for the life of me I can't figure out how to do that... and the Stora forums have been no help... so I thought I would try here???

Version 4.4 (build 2172) – February 6, 2011
Server jetty-6.1.x, java 1.6.0_22, Windows Vista (30.4 MB / 67.5 MB)

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Here's what I would do...

Sounds like you already have an account on the NAS. I would create a user on your PC with the same name and password as that.

Then, as a test, do the following:

1. At a command prompt, when logged in with the account that has the drive mapped, type "Net Use" and make a note of the path listed in the "Remote" column for the drive letter the NAS is mapped to. This is the UNC, and should be something like \\Server\ShareName.

2. Log off, and log on with the new account that you created that has the same name and password as the NAS.

3. Go to start->Run and type in the UNC from step 1.

4. If the contents of the NAS appear in an explorer window, change the Subsonic Service to run with this new name and password, and set the UNC up as the Music Path in subsonic.

HTH,

Thank you! That worked and Subsonic still has access to my local folders because I made that account an admin.

Thank you for your help!
