LINUX: Music directory...

I have done some searching on this forum and the Ubuntu forums and I'm not really finding an answer, which it making me think that it really doesn't matter. BUT I figured I would ask first.

Does it matter where I put my music collection?

I know that you can point subsonic to anywhere. It did matter where I had the music for my Windows install so I can't imagine that it matter in Linux. Except that I know linux cares a lot more about permissions and ownership!

I'm going to be keeping the music on the same HD as the subsonic install so I'm talking about on a remote or RAID.

Thanks!

hehehe....I just noticed that when I go to the Music Folders section it already has /var/music added as a folder.

So, I think I'll just use that!

I used to have my collection spanning 2 different servers... the only thing I needed to do was mount the share to a local directory, then just point that particular music folder to that location.

If you want to know the specific command, just pm me.
