I have Subsonic running on a win7 box that has a static IP and I have the box sitting on my DMZ to test with. I can get to the box with no isses from a remote computer and my iPhone. But I noticed that when I do a "change" of the cover art from the local computer or from a remote computer it displays the images from google but will not download any. I get a java.net.UnknownHostException. I have also tried it with multiple user accounts with the same results. It started doing this when I went to a staic IP address. Any ideas?

I just noticed my Lyrics retrival does the same thing.

Thanks

Do you have an up-to-date Java install?

Ok I am only posting this because it may help someone else.. but I feel really dumb. So I changed my DNS to what I thought was the proper servers but they were wrong. and since I never browse the internet on my server and I hit my Subsonic server VIA IP then I didnt know it was wrong. So.. I tried to hit Java.com to update and thats when I noticed it.

Thanks for your help .. I now have my helmet on so I can finish setting up my server.

This may help others who have updated to Ubuntu 12.04 recently and who have a static IP address. I found that I was unable to download cover art and received the java.net.UnknownHostException error. My log files contained a host of other errors related to this.

The solution to this problem for me was to update the /etc/network/interfaces file by placing the following entry at the end of the file as follows:

address 192.168.x.x
netmask 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.x.x
dns-nameservers 192.168.x.xx

I then re-started network manager and everything was back in working order.
