I can't get subsonic to work with my Macbook

Hey, sorry for the semi-vague title. Anyhow, here's the problem.
I installed Subsonic, donated, and set it up on my desktop PC. When i access it through my PC it works, i can play my music and movies through the web interface just fine. So i set up an account as a guest, and tried to log onto that after installing Subsonic on my Macbook i just got. I figured it would be a nice way to have my media with me, but not have to actually put it on my computer.
Anyhow, i open Subsonic on my Mac, and it loads and nothing shows up, but then i notice the little set of headphone at the top of the screen, next to your bluetooth, wireless connection, etc. So i click it, and it takes me to the same page to log-in as subsonic does on my PC. But everytime i type in my password and username, it says Wrong username or password..
If i do the admin login, it will work, but then i have no possible way to access my files.
If i am missing something really obvious, feel free to tell me, and call me an idiot. Anyhow, i would appreciate anything that helps me solve this.

If you want to access the media on your desktop PC you don't need to install anything on the Macbook. The whole idea is that the desktop PC will serve everything up as a website that you can access from other computers.

The reason you don't have your username or your library when you try to access from the macbook is that you are logging on to subsonic on the macbook, not the server on the desktop PC.

Step 1: Uninstall subsonic from the macbook.
Step 2: find out what the ip address is of the desktop PC.
Step 3: Make sure subsonic is running on the desktop PC.
Step 4: Now on your macbook, go to the address of your desktop PC in any web browser. It will be something like http://192.168.1.1:4040/ . Make sure you get the ip address and the port number correct.

At some point you should set up the correct port forwarding for your router (or hopefully it is a Upnp router that subsonic can set up automagically) and then you can use the xxx.subsonic.org forwarding to get to your library from anywhere on the internet. But that stuff is for another forum post.
