Problem Description: Subsonic.log is filled error messages regarding cover art and thumbnail generation. This basically makes the file unusable for tracking actual usage. I have over 200,000 songs in library, and would be unable to fix the cover art issue, which seems to affect the majority of them.

Questions: Can this (ie: coverart/thumbnail) generation be suppressed? Can this be fixed to just show a blank or default thumbnail/cover (and the error surpressed), since cover art is not really a critical part of what this amazing software does? (any more than showing lyrics)?

In the webUI, logged in as admin look under settings tab > general and remove any file extensions or filenames from the "cover art mask" field. That should make SS unable to find any matching covers/filenames, thus theoretically only showing default covers.

Just tested it and it ofc works

I'll give it a try...

still doesn't work after changing file mask... problem is it's getting it from inside mp3s (tag data).

Just moved from linux to win7 (not my choice its a peice of sh*t)
However, now I get NO coverart anywhere. Is this is a bug? Vanilla install of win7 and subsonic. Also increased memory and restarted, no change.

Also, this does nothing at all... just fyi

If you are using Internet Explorer 9, you must hit the Compatibility Mode button for cover art to display correctly.

Works fine in Chrome and other browser, AFAIK.

It also sounds like the user account the Subsonic Server is running as does not have full access to the c:\Subsonic folder and its subfolders.
