Hi All,
I have been using Subsonic for a long time now and stream music from my server for my 4 kids and my partener n Me.

I hadnt changed anything on my server, where subsonic runs. All my music collection is on the server and had been working fine UNTIL my daughter thought i had turned her off??

I thought i would look into it ASAP as i do use it on my iphone etc.

Problem Description: (Unable to use subsonic and access it through the webpage panel)
Troubleshooting Steps: (Checked that my ports were still active on the router and they were forwarded correctly etc, also checked the static IP of my server to make sure nothing had changed)
Playback Application and version: (Subsonic version is 4.4 and i use Isub on the iphone. I had made a donation to Subsonic to allow the streaming to devices etc)
Subsonic Version: (cant get into the web interface asit just says Error: 503 Service unavalable)
Server Version: (cant get into the web interface asit just says Error: 503 Service unavalable)
Hardware Platform: (Windows7 x64)
Java Memory Limit: (Windows: 500Mb)
Last ten log file lines: (Cant get into the webinterface at all)

I really dont know what has changed here and why things have just stopped working?? Everything else on the server appears in order and like i said, I havent changed anything

If there is a good place to start please let me know where, or what i can look at

regards

Kev

Since you're using Windows, did you try to reboot the system and/or restart subsonic?

Hi,
Yeah rebooted the server, also rebooted the router etc.
I tried EVERYTHING to get things working again but to no avail.
I am of the opinion that as things get complicated with programs etc it is normally quicker to reinstall things and start fresh, rather than run around trying to fix things.

Anyway I could not get past the Error: 503 no matter what i tried. I looked at http://www.canyouseeme.org/ and it could see my port etc????

So. I went into my controll panel and uninstalled JAVA and Subsonic completeley.

Downloaded the new versions of both. Installed JAVA first and then subsonic.
Set it up and changed the port from default to the port i was using before.
Started the web applet and i am at the loggin. Set it all up again with all the users and done :D

Note to self here: If you cant find the problem easily and a lot of head scratching is going on then RE INSTALL (its normally quicker)

Many thanks

Long Live Subsonic and isub :D

Most likely a Java issue. I think there was an update issued recently. If the update tried to install automatically and didn't get it right it may have caused the problem.

Thank you, Gary J - I just did an 'upgrade' from Win7 Enterprise to Ultimate and the Java got messed up,
your post got me on the right track...to java.com ;-)
