Looking for REALLY large music library to test SubsonicTV

Postby jnath » Wed Apr 27, 2011 5:01 am

We're getting closer to launching a beta of SubsonicTV which allow Roku owners the ability to stream their music (and soon video) to their TV using Subsonic.

http://subsonictv.com/

We need to test against super large libraries to ensure that our service will work for everyone. If you have one that you're willing to give us access to please contact us:

subsonictv@gmail.com

Thank you!

I've got a TB collection in a modified instance of SS. I'm apprehensive as hell to give you access after looking at your site. You are charging 4.99?...WTF is subsonic TV?

I could possibly do this, as I already have the beta.... although I still haven't been able to get it to connect. :-/
Over 8 TB of files I'm trying to make available to the Roku player, mainly so my 93 year old mother can use the Roku remote to watch her stuff :-D (the Roku remote has very few buttons, and she can use them easily).

I could set it up for an authenticated access from your end, and monitor your activity for the hours you would need.

Sent you a PM from the roku forums, also.

We're fixing the connection issue whch occurs in some use cases. If you use your local ip address should work fine. Our current release is beta 003 but the next release will fix this. Also Sindre made some updates for SSL and coverart which will be in 4.5

When you say super large, do you mean song number or collection size? I have about 100k songs that are 'perfectly' tagged (uniform artist names, correct song titles with capitalizations, all tracks are numbered, discs are numbered, initial release year, version release year, at least 500x500 album art). All of my music is encoded from 128kbps at the lowest and up to 320kbps. I'm sure others have as many or as close to as many songs in FLAC form which would far eclipse my ~600GB of music, though.

Good question. WE're looking for large number of songs so we can ensure that large result sets don't time out or do anything else funky. If you have Roku you can install the latest beta 003 release. If you don't and are interested in helping, PM me with a test account with limited rights to your subsonic server. Just need to test for a day or so.

Thanks!
