[Android] low audio volume

I've confirmed this on the Droid 2 and a rooted nook color.
whenever I play a video (mvk) the audio is much quieter than any other media. I don't have any other video files aside from mkv's so I can't test further than this. Running subsonic 4.3 and Android 2.3.4.

Is no one else experiencing this? I think it may be an issue with JWplayer but haven't been able to track down any info...
