Can't get folders on external drive to refresh with new....

UPDATE - I've figured out that it's something locally on my computer. There's one particular external drive that is not showing newer additions. It's a brand new (few months) drive that functions properly in every other capacity. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. - UPDATE

I've occasionally had an issue with folders not refreshing with current/new music additions showing on the Android app.

Example, I just added about a dozen folders of FLACs to a directory on my PC that I have set up for Subsonic streaming. When I load that folder through the mobile app it does not show the new additions. I've used the refresh function several times and it still doesn't show an update.

What am I doing wrong?

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app? That's generally the first thing anyone tells anyone to do about a misfunctioning smartphone app...

Yup. First thing I did.

I've determined that it's not the Android app. It's something locally based. When I pull up my Subsonic server in my web browser it also does not show some of the newer folder and collections that have been added. I've tried refreshing, but still nothing. It seems to take several days for the new folders/collections to show up in Subsonic, while they are completely accessible on my computer.

External drives don't always play well with Subsonic for several reasons. The most common causes are flie structure differences between OS's and permission/access settings.

Subsonic usually wants to see UNC names for external devices in the form of a network share, e.g.: \\netdrive\Music

You may also need to edit the Subsonic service (Windows) and give it log on rights to the share.
