JavaScript:Error

Postby iGor » Thu Jun 16, 2011 4:17 pm

Hello,

First, excuse me for my english...

I have installed Subsonic recently, and I find it so much cool. For more than a week everything was working fine. I've added some users, which differents rights, and everything is ok.
But since 2 days ago, when I'm logging in I get and Error message in firefox (4.0). I've tried with Midori, which give me "JavaScript:Error" message.
When I clic "ok", then I can use subsonic quite completely... exept the right column where I should see what I'm listening to and what the others are listening to, if they are. So I tried to go in the settings where I can set if I want to show what I'm listening to and/or see what others are. When I disable these two options, I don't get the error message anymore. When I re/able these, when I save, I get the message.
I've tried different possibilities which the different users, showing or not, seeing or not what the others are listening to, but didn't manage to find a pattern. Now these options are disabled for all the users.
I tried to suppress one user and reactivate it, create other user (a new one), but nothing change. Except that for a short while, every users but one could show and see, the one could only see.

I tried to see in the log, but couldn't find something related to it.

So I'm using firefox 4.01 for listening to music through the web (Standard Subsonic Web Interface), mainly on ubuntu's desktop (11.04), but sometimes on a Windows XP PC. Subsonic is installed on my own server, which is running fedora 12.

The version is : 4.4 (build 2169) – 6 février 2011
The server version is : jetty-6.1.x, java 1.6.0_17, Linux (72,4 MB / 99,2 MB)

This is a folder that I've renamed, and I can play this album.

[edit] Now, I've changed the settings, and all users are able to show and see, except user iGor, which is mine. I can see but can't show. [/edit]

up.

I've created another user, named 1g0r. He can show what he's listening to, see what others do. But he appear as another user (musique). That's confusing.

So I have :
    1. the admin users who can show and see
    2. my user iGor who can see but can't show / if I try to set this user showing what he's listening to, I get and Error message in a little window, with nothing written in it except Error, in firefox 4. In another browser, Midori, the message reads Javascript:Error.
    3. 1g0r who can show and see, but appear as the last user
    4. musique, who can show and see

Does anyone have a clue?

The situation changed again.
Now, with all users, I can't set the personnal settings to see what other are listening to. If I do I get the Javascript : Error.
That's the opposite of what was happening a few days ago.

But the problem is always with this function : to show or to see what a user is listening to, or what others are.
And the logs aren't talking about something like that.

Would it be and idea to uninstall and reinstall subsonic?

I've just removed and reinstalled subsonic, and the problem is not there anymore... yet. I'm expecting it to reappear.

I don't consider this manipulation a real way of solving problem.

I've just changed the music folder and the problem reappeared. Remove, install again and it's ok.
I think if I could stop and restard subsonic it would be nice, but I don't know how to do this on a fedora/apache server...

I am a windows user but shouldn't "sudo service subsonic restart" work?

With regard to the wrong user being shown I find deleting the jetty cache sometimes fixes the problem
On windows its in \subsonic\jetty\xxxx\jsp\org\apache\jsp\Delete whats here
Also clear your browser cache.

Due to the confusion from too many genres of music, we have decided to put both country music and rap music into the genre of Crap music.
