Strange Behavior with the Search Index.

Postby lazarost » Tue Jun 28, 2011 7:49 am

Hi to all,

I am facing a somewhat peculiar problem.
When I move an album, let's say from an Artist folder to the Soundtracks folder, the rescan picks up the tracks and the artists properly but can not pickup the album name.

Some pics to better understand:
First 2 are the current setup that works, the other is what happens if I move the album to another folder

The program to check the database is luke.
http://code.google.com/p/luke/

This demonstrates that the titles and artists are correct, but the only thing missing is the album title. Search finds the artists and tracks in that album, but can not find the album name.

If I delete the subsonic13.index and lucene folder, then it only picks up a handful of album titles and ignores all the rest.

Tried to "touch", "chmod" , "chown" but to no avail.

All of the folders and files have 755 permissions, not that it matters since subsonic runs as root.

I use the 4.5 beta 1 .deb file, under Debian Unstable :

Code: Select all
Linux karvouno 2.6.39-2.dmz.1-liquorix-amd64 #1 ZEN SMP PREEMPT Sat Jun 25 16:07:43 CDT 2011 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Code: Select all
java version "1.6.0_26"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_26-b03)
Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM (build 20.1-b02, mixed mode)

My Media Collection is organized religiously into /media/music/Mp3/
with Artist/Album/title - track.mp3 and every single one of them with id3 v2.4 utf-8.

Also copied all of the music into a ntfs partition and booted to windows, where the exact same thing happens. The first scan picks up all the artists and titles but very few albums.

This happens with every version >4.1 (basically with lucene) .

Funny thing is that when I rip some new albums, the search picks them up flawlessly, the problem arises when I copy or move folders.

Really buffled by this problem, any insight ?
