Weirdness, Server on Windows pointing to library on NAS.

Ok, So I've moved my music over to my NAS but have left the subsonic server on my windows box. I can access my music just fine, and it plays correctly. Previously as soon as there was a new artist added to the library, If you refreshed the browser it would list them on the left side, tho they might not be searchable yet (due to not having been indexed), and also if you selected coverart it took effect immediately. Now that I have moved the music to the NAS, I HAVE to rebuild before artists show up, and cover art takes a couple of refreshes before it starts using it. Any idea? Just irritating :)

Network shares do not behave like local disks. Usually, the local filesystem is monitored for changes by the kernel. However, network shares are not monitored. If you want to store your content on your NAS, then you'll either have to run the server from the NAS or find a way to refresh the indexes automatically.
