xxx.subsonic.org tries to connect to private IP. Wait, what?

When using my laptop at home, and I try to connect to my Subsonic server, I use (like I normally do, anywhere I happen to be), (alias).subsonic.org, and it tries to go to a private IP, instead of a public IP, and eventually times out. Specifically, 192.168.56.1. This is not a subnet I use.

Perhaps I have some strange setting in my firewall/NAT box, but it doesn't seem to do it all the time, and I've never seen anything like this. I'll do more testing.

If I point it at the correct public IP:port, it works fine.

It's not a show-stopper, but annoying.

Just tested, it seems to affect the Android app as well. If I connect 3G, it works fine. If I connect thru wireless, it gets "A network error occurred. Retrying . . ."

INSIDE your lan, your router always tries any lan IP associated with your url (WAN IP) first, (keeps local traffic local), so at some point the router got a mapping of that subnet and is trying to associate the request with that IP. I'd recommend hosing the router, and setting it back up again, if it's not performing, or the issue bugs you. :)
