Cover art is not recognized properly

Postby ThEpicSpartan » Fri Jul 15, 2011 8:54 am

Hi,

I'm new to Subsonic, so please be patient with me.
I have a certain problem concerning the cover art recognition.

I am running Subsonic 4.4 (build 2172) on a Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise. I setup the access from external, worked everything like a charm for me. I added a couple of albums from my library. These albums are sampler albums, which means, that there are e.g. 25 tracks, and every track is from a different artist. The Tags in those mp3s are very detailed, every track has a different cover. Now, when i play those tracks, there is only shown the cover of the first track of the sampler album.

e.g the sampler album has as first track
"01 - Jennifer Lopez - On the Floor"
and as second track
"02 - Sunrise Avenue - Hollywood Hills"

and i play "02 - Sunrise Avenue - Hollywood Hills" the cover art of the first track is shown, but not of the second, although there is a different cover art in the MP3 Tag.

I did quite a lot of searching on the forum, but i didn't find the answer. Can anyone tell me, if this is behavior by design, or did i do something wrong?

Thanks

It doesn't use the cover in the tag what I know of.

It uses what is in the folder, ie. folder.jpg etc.

thats weird, in that folder is no .jpg oder .jpeg at all, just mp3s.
So it has to be from the tags, right?

In my experience, Subsonic will use the cover art in the file if there is one. If it couldn't find art in the file, it will then often default to the cover art of the first file it found in the folder.
