i can connect to my subsonic site but no reconnection possi

Postby Schakine » Sun Jul 17, 2011 10:12 am

Hi,
Can you help?
I can connect to subsonic and stream without any problem but one time only
When i try to reconnect the page do not answer..
I have to wait sometimes for hours before i can connect again
An other work around is to re download subsonic application and enter all infos again
I am using subsonic to stream music and videos from my pc at home on windows 7 to my Acer 500 tablet on android 3.1...as Iam away from home
When i am back home and using subsonic on my LAN it works ok...

Could it be a server problem?

I had no reply but i'd like to had i had find out 2 points i did not mentioned in my last message..
The problem seems to have to do with the ports as being away from home for the moment i can connect time to time to my subsonic web page and sometimes no way..
I have tried a few times goung through the url with the outside ip: port and it works and i can access the page and suddenly no way to get any signal back, the connection is dead...
I am running windows 7 on ly pc and i already tweak the firewall (comodo)
I had open the ports in my box-router (
range) using the automatic way and it had open in upnup
Could it be the problem?

If it's a port problem you won't experience any problems in your LAN because it won't pass your firewall/router. But it can be that it's just an android/mobile app issue, that's why I asked you to test it with a windows machine and a 'normal' web browser...just to be sure.

Otherwise you can go to: http://canyouseeme.org/ when you're at home, this site can test if your port is reachable from the outside. Then you are sure it passes your router. To test your firewall you can just try to turn your firewall off temporarily to see if this solves your issue.

If the issue remains you know it has nothing to do with your router or firewall.

Let me know the outcome :)

Thank you for your help
I have try with iphone appk does not connect
Tried with a friend's laptop with windows 7 does not connect in ten minutes or more it will connect again..
I shall investigate back home with port forwarding, walk on lan but pc is allways on and dhcp but the pc is on fixed ip and router too
Then,i will take a deep breath and rethink the problem...
Interesting point,Orb connects all the time through its apk on my iphone with computer at home but i do not want to use orb i want to use subsonic....much better and stream everything..on my android tablet.and nice community...
Thanks again

solved

I post this for those which can experience the same issue..
As it has been say here,it is allways a router prob..and it was
My router had automaticly opened my subsonic ports in up'nup section but that was not enough...so do not use automatic port opening
You should manualy tweak ports in the nat/pat section,ie create a new rule and add manualy your ports numbers, same internal and external if requested, make shure both tcp and udp are open.
Leave up'n up as it is!
Et voila, works like a charm over internet or at home...
Thank your precious posts i was able to reconfigure the overall
