Hi,

i looking for a good/cheap/not ugly Android Tablet that i can use as remote for my subsonic server.

I dreaming of connecting it to my amp and fix it on a the wall or into a cupboard.

Does someone has this kind of setup? Or a hint? Recommendation?

Subsonic still changing my world of music :P

I would go with a Nook Color. They are relatively cheap and you won't pay for a bunch of features that you aren't going to be using it for. I think the wifi only version is around $225 - $250. I believe that it is currently running Froyo and the CPU/GPU specs are similar to that of the Droid 2 and Droid X.

I just picked up an Acer Iconia A500 tab and rooted it (no new ROMS yet, still playing/researching) and the sound quality is noticeably superior to my Nook Color (running CM7). If you're in the USA, Staples has a coupon for $100 so the Iconia A500 comes in at $299, which is a deal for this powerhouse tablet. I still love my Nook Color, though...supremely lightweight and compact, but the Iconia's video isn't sluggish at all, whereas the Nook occassionally doesn't have the smoothest video experience. Strictly from a sound perspective, the Iconia is better, but if you're just sticking it on a wall with cheapie powered speakers, the Nook would actually be better. :)

Check out ahappydeal.com. I ordered two for ~$60 each for my kids for Christmas, and they're pretty good. They don't have capacitive touchscreens, but would be good for your application, I think! If you need more info, let me know!
