Scripting the Random Playlist functionality.

Postby toekneebullard » Mon Aug 22, 2011 2:26 pm

90% of the time I use the web interface for Subsonic it's just to go to the "More" page and make a random playlist to play in my external player. I'm wondering if someone can point me in the right direction to figure how to script this functionality so I can just launch a script that will download the playlist, without have to do the whole log in, select 50 etc business. (I am SO lazy.)

Another way would be to have a playlist of all my music, and just load that up in my external player and hit random. But is there a way to to do this that would update with newly added music?

Thanks for all your help!

With regard to random playing the recently added music the only way I can think of is to either put new music into its own folder or give it own genre tag.
However giving the comment made about lazy that may be a bit too much like work
Don't forget you can select by year if you just want this years releases (or any other year)
Everyone is entitled to be stupid, Image but some abuse the privilege!

Due to the confusion from too many genres of music, we have decided to put both country music and rap music into the genre of Crap music.

I'm not trying to randomize only new music. I was saying that if I made one playlist of all my music, and just used that to shuffle through all my music all the time, there'd be no way to add the new tracks. The second paragraph should probably just be ignored.
