Problem Description: Sometimes when playing songs from the web interface a certain song will simply not play. As far as I can tell there is no pattern to what songs will and will not play, and the vast majority of songs in the library do play just fine. Songs do still get submitted as listened to Last.fm and are displayed in the now playing with my username.
Troubleshooting Steps:

Clear Playlist and readd songs
Attempt to play the same song from a different computer, still using the web interface

Playback Application and version: Chrome 15.0.874.15 dev-m
Subsonic Version: 4.5 (build 2385)
Server Version: jetty-6.1.x, java 1.7.0, Windows 7 (58.0 MB / 85.0 MB)
Hardware Platform: Windows 7x64 Enterprise
Problem Filename: One Example: Pressha (Live on The Vortex 03.12.2011).mp3
Another song is: 01 A1 Sector 187.mp3

Whats the mp3 bitrate for the songs that will not play?
Also is there any reason why you appear to be down-sampling your mp3?

It is 256Kbps. I would like to be, and thought I was but must have set it up wrong. Where would I find out how to do that properly?

Its in 2 places
settings/advanced for overall (master) upload/download speed
settings/players for bitrate per player.
You need to select your player in the drop down box at the top 1st.

Ok I think I have resolved that. Put a download limit of 200 and upload of 100. I assume the setting under advanced is on a per user basis?

Can you turn off the down-sampling and try again (set bitrate to 0 in both locations as above)

The numbers in Settings->Advanced were at 0 previously before I just changed them. I changed it to no limit in my player though and that seems to have fixed the problem. What can I do to make it so I don't have to stream everything at highest quality though?

I would also take a look at the tags in the files... in your original post, it appears that LAME crashed because you had a double quote in the tag of one of the files.

I don't see any double quotes in any of the tags. Any easy way to output them though to paste here or should I do a screenshot of something?

It appears to have an album name of Code Red E.P. [12" Vinyl - MSMLK001]

Ah yes, you are right. The album tag for that song does have a double quote in it. There have been other songs though that do show any quotes or double quotes in the name but have still failed to play.

Check the tags on all those tracks that do not play with a mp3 tagging program such as 'MusicBrainz Picard'
and remove any "odd characters"
The lame transcoder seems to a bit "fussy" on what it will accept in the ID tags
