Sindre,
First of all congrats on your marrage and
my regards to your bride,
I wish you both the very best.

I'm posting today to see if you can advise
on a way to enforce player bit rates,
I'll give an example so you can understand
better how I mean.

I create a user login, assign it a set upload
bit rate and everything is cool, then I look at
the graph when that user is on and it's all over the map
(as far as upload bit rate) sometimes in excess of a meg.

is there a way to set a default upload bit rate for all users
logins in the Subsonic files themselves somewhere?

Thanks in advance, I'll check back soon..

G.

Hi and thanks!

The per-user bitrate is only for playback (streaming). The upload/download limit (in Settings > General) can be used to restrict how much bandwidth to use for upload/download.

Note that these values are global. For instance: If you specify 1000 Kbps upload limit, and there are 5 parallel uploads, each upload will be allowed to use 200 Kbps.

Hope this was clarifying :-)
