\var\playlists does not exist...please chagne settings

I would gladly comply if only someone would tell me how?

I am using windows XP. Despite an hour searching, I cannot find how to specify the playlist folder!

In subsonic... settings->General Tab, first field.

Under settings I have three tabs only
Personal Password Players

The plot thickens...

1) If I start from the tray it goes to localhost and the settings tab allows me to alter the directory of the playlist, as per the instruction above.
2) if I start from IPaddress:4040 I access my music server but then do not have the same large number of settings available.

Clearly I have not understood everything here.

I do not need the files on localhost now that everything is loaded onto my music server - how do I specify the IP address of the
server in the Settings > Media Folder section (I have disabled the files on localhost)

First thing to do is read Shane R. Monroe's excellent beginners guide to installing Subsonic which can be found here
Subsonic should be installed and running on your music server which as far as SS is concerned is local host
but read the guide and THEN come back with questions as "Clearly you have not understood everything here."
