On OpenSuSE 11.4, there is no directory
# Source function library.
. /etc/init.d/functions

How do I modify the script so that it starts?

The update also complains:
# rpm -Uvh subsonic-4.5.rpm
Preparing... ########################################### [100%]
Stopping subsonic ...
1:subsonic ########################################### [100%]
insserv: Service network is missed in the runlevels 4 to use service subsonic
insserv: Service syslog is missed in the runlevels 4 to use service subsonic
subsonic 0:off 1:off 2:on 3:on 4:on 5:on 6:off
/etc/init.d/subsonic: line 38: /etc/init.d/functions: No such file or directory

And the status option never works for me.

I commented it out, and it starts. But the Admin Web pages do not work properly. Chrome says
"prepZooms is not defined"
"Object #<HTMLDivElement> has no method 'hide'"

And there are no graphics elements, so impossible to navigate.

Well, now I cannot access the admin page at all:

HTTP ERROR: 404

/WEB-INF/jsp/index.jsp
RequestURI=/WEB-INF/jsp/index.jsp

The stand-alone version works for me, but how do I get it to start automatically on boot? And who (what user) should start it?

How do I run it as other than root? What owner and group should this run as? I tried making myself the owner of everything in /var/subsonic, but it would not run properly.

I went back to the rpm. I made the directory /etc/init.d/functions, and things seemed to work better.
