Windows can not find subsonic

I've had no problems with subsonic until about a month ago when it stopped working. When I try to launch subsonic now it says "Missing Shortcut" and can not find subsonic.url. I've uninstalled and reinstalled a few times, uninstalled google desktop, etc but no luck. I also checked the router and it is still configured properly.

But one of the most important pieces of info is
Hardware Platform: Windows 7

Therefore you will have a control panel (Subsonic user agent) in the notification area.
Is this red or green (stopped or running)? Does it show any error messages?
What happens when you click on the link?

Nope. When I attempt to start subsonic a cmd screen flashes for a second but nothing comes of it.

Opening the tray icon does nothing.

Clicking Open Subsonic gives me the following:

Is SS in your list of installed Programs?
Opening the tray icon does nothing.

So you do have a tray icon - I shall ask again - is it red or green?
If you right click it and select open what do you see?
It should tell you if SS is running and memory used or give an error

Sorry I wasn't clear. I am clicking on Subsonic Tray Icon in the Subsonic folder in the start menu. There is no subsonic tray icon at the bottom of the screen. I know what you are referring to and it used to be there when subsonic was functioning.

Have you checked that Windows has SS in its list of installed programs?
Did you install SS in its default locations? in which case you will have a subsonic folder in Program Files with subsonic-agent.exe (control panel) and subsonic-service.exe.
You should also have a subsonic folder in your c:drive - have you?

The default location is the program files (x86) folder. I've tried in both that folder and the Program folder. Both the subsonic-agent.exe (control panel) and subsonic-service.exe are in the folders. I also have the C:subsonic folder with the transcode folder.

The C:\Subsonic folder should also contain folders db, jetty, & lucene at least - does it?
If not it is not installing correctly.
Remove SS via Add/Remove programs in control panel and then delete the C:\Subsonic folder then re-install.
You will lose your settings though so be warned.

Nope. I've uninstalled, deleted the folders, and even went so far as to delete the download and re-download. For some reason the remaining files in the c:subsonic folder are not present (or installing I guess).

Excuse me for stating the obvious but you are using the Windows installer?
Assuming you are, try installing as an administrator, just right click the "subsonic-4.5-setup.exe" file and select run as administrator.
If that doesn't work I think I have run out of ideas :?

Yup. Windows installer, running as administrator. Thanks though. Not sure why it suddenly stopped. Had just started to use SubsonicTV

Yeah, installing as administer. I installed in xpmode and attempted to copy and paste the missing folder with no luck.
