ConnectionTimeoutException

Postby beezy » Sat Oct 15, 2011 2:09 am

So I finally updated the software on my computer to the latest and now I can't connect to it from my phone or browser from outside my wifi. It says my domain is registered but cannot connect to it. In my phone I tried inputting the IP and port # and still no dice. A headache is starting to form so I'll just put this out there. Thanks in advance.

Problem Description: I am not able to connect to the server from outside of my wifi
Troubleshooting Steps: I have checked everything I can think of and everything seems to be set up and running properly on the server end.
Playback Application and version: iSUb (iPhone) and via browser on another computer.
Subsonic Version: 4.5 (build 2385) – August 11, 2011
Server Version: jetty-6.1.x, java 1.6.0_18, Windows 7 (53.0 MB / 96.7 MB)
Hardware Platform: Windows 7
Java Memory Limit: 100
Problem Filename: (If you are having difficulty with a particular file, please include it's name)
Output from ffmpeg -i: (If you open a command prompt and type 'ffmpeg -i <filename>' what is the output? Ideally put this in a "code" block)
Last ten log file lines: (The last ten or so lines copied and pasted from the About screen in the Subsonic Web Interface. Ideally these will be in a CODE block as well.)

Code: Select all

If you can connect from within your own lan from another pc but not from outside your lan then that means the port is not opening correctly in your router.
From the server machine try http://canyouseeme.org and check port 2019
You may have to open the port manually - http://portforward.com will help you there

No it is ported correctly. That is one thing I know how to do. It even tells me in the web app that it is forwarded correctly. I think I already mentioned that. I was sort of thinking my router is pooping out on me because I am having unrelated problems with it BUT it was working fine before I updated subsonic so I dunno...

EDIT - It says that port is giving a timeout so I guess it's not forwarded correctly although I have already done it manually. I need more acetaminophen
