Random files shown as *.mp3.files

Hi there,

Apologies if this has been covered in another post, but after a thorough search I was not able to find it...

I have this weird bug where files appear with the following ending *.mp3.files

Maybe a screenshot can help here...

Image

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

The entries at the op are all ending in *.mp3.files and then the right entries that can be listened to appear at the bottom.

I have searched for these files in the location of the actual mp3 files and there is nothing there.

Anyone with a similar issue? Any ideas on how to fix this?

Does this affect only the odd album or is it more widespread?
Does it remain after you update the search index?

It seems to affect a few albums.

I updated the index, even by removing the media folders, indexing, putting them back and indexing again. And they still remain there.

Try this
Stop SS then delete the subsonic14.index file.
Restart SS and re-index

Thanks for the tip. Done this and it still shows the wrong files. I also tried with deleting the Jetty cache.

Just noticed that there are quite a few of them and they all seem to appear in the Recently Added view. Not sure if this has anything to do with it...

I seem to have found what the issue is:

Vaio Analyzer creates these hidden folders, one per file, named File Name.mp3.files

Deleting these folders fixes the issue.

However, I would presume it would be no harm if subsonic would ignore this and not show them in case someone wants to use this VAIO utility.

Hmm! there does appear to be a problem with SS ignoring both the hidden and system attributes in Windows :(
