I have alot of albums that do not show the correct genre. For example, when I look at one of these albums it has the genre
labeled as "17" when it should be "Rock". There are 50-100 albums that have the genre incorrect. Is there any way to change
them all at once? Or do I have to do it one album at a time?

MediaMonkey, Winamp or Foobar2000 to name just a few.
This is assuming that its the ID tags that are incorrectly named and its not a different problem.

is there a data file that can be edited?
i'm not sure how many albums are wrong.
i was hoping i could just do a find and replace
in the appropiate file

The ID tag is stored in YOUR files and SS just reads them so the answer is no
