Problem Description:I've been having some issues getting my subsonic to play on my android phone lately and haven't been able to figure out why. This prompted me to check out the admin console to see if possibly there was a setting there that has been changed. When doing so I have noticed that the Settings menu is no longer available when i logon as admin. I should also note that i have friends who log onto my server and play music on their phones and devices just fine. Please see the link below of an image of a screen shot of my admin page with the Settings menu missing:

Two things I would try
  1. Your java install needs an update the current version is 29 (yours is 18)
  2. Increase the memory allocation via the SS control panel - you have the default 100MB so you may be running low

If that doesn't work create another admin account and see if the settings tab re-appears.
EDIT: Forget that last statement as you wont be able to without the settings tab - need more coffee!

I updated my java-
jetty-6.1.x, java 1.6.0_29, Windows 7 (38.1 MB / 86.3 MB)
I also increased my memory size

any other ideas?

If I uninstall subsonic and reinstall will i lose all my users information? if so how do i back it up and restore?

You shouldn't lose any settings if you just install the new version over the old one.
The settings for users etc are in db\subsonic.script file so to be safe back that up first.

Hey I just wanted to say thanks for the help.

I was able to use the db\subsonic.script from an old backup of my computer to get the settings menu back in my admin page.

Not sure how this originally disappeared but it's all fixed now.

Thanks!
