Hi.

I need help to make the transcoding working on a STORA "box".

I've got a windows's subsonic server which is so good that i try to do the same with my stora box. (energy and money saving -> green power !)
I was a full Microsoft user so Wiki and Google help me to make Subsonic working on my Stora but ...
I don't find the way to make the transcoding working on my Stora ! (for MPC, FLACC, APE ...)
- Try Subsonic 4.5, Subsonic 4.6.1, ...
- Try Lame 3.98.4 for ARM CPU
- Try SOX (but don't now how to make subsunic using it) -> i know that APE is not supported
- FFmepg include seems unavailable to work with the Stora box ...

Maybe the ARM CPU is not able to convert lowlost audio formats to MP3 ?

Of course you can PM me if you want to build a wiki page to install subsonic on a Stora box. (But you have to accept bad english writing !)
May i can win a registered adress with this ? Cause currently I can't pay for a second accompt !

You don't need a second unlock code for the second instance of Subsonic. Use the original one.

Sindre has made it clear in the past that if you run multiple instances you can re-use your registration information in both.

Finally i find a way to run transcoding flac->mp3 in my Stora box.
Make my brain as hot as the box when it transcode !
Of course it's very slow but it save a lot of energy comparing to my subsonic server on PC !

Nobody want to try to build a Wiki page with my little help ?

Now I've to think about a good Atom/HM1 motherboard, maybe Santa can find it for me ...

If you post your results / experiences in the Tutorials section that would be a great help.

I wouldn't worry too much about that - a quick read of some of the posts on this forum just highlights that
I can add it to the wiki -once I get me head round how it works

To give you an idea of the transcoding perfs on Stora.
It take 3mn to convert 1mn of flac audio ! (trancoding script by default on Subsonic 4.5)
