Can't fastforward

Postby maciekmiszkiel » Thu Nov 10, 2011 10:56 pm

This is a reoccurring issue in my case.

Out of a sudden when I play my .mp3 not even other formats on the external player I cannot fast forward them.

I've selected "External Player with Playlist" option but that still does not work for me. I've also tried cloneing and creating a new player with no effect.

Not sure if I should just reinstall it which is kinda cumbersome since it happens quite often or if anyone knows any trick to fix that.

Help would be appreciated.

Knowing what external player you are using might help us

To make sure we are talking about the same thing, when you say fast forward, do you mean next (previous) track?

No, I meant fast forwarding every 5 sec. or so. You can do that in WinAmp by using arrow keys. It used to work before but recently broke again.

Ok now we finally have finally found out what you are referring to.
I have just checked with my winamp player using external with playlist and it skips forward or back 5 secs no problem.
Does it work if you play a track directly in winamp?
also does the seek bar (seeker) operate on yours?

Yeah, everything works if I'm playing local media. The seekbar doesn't even show up for me when I stream from subsonic. It's not computer related as I tried it from a few different machines.

Hmm! odd
Can you post some more details of your setup eg server OS, SS version etc
and also your winamp version.

I think you find it will be but which one :?

I cannot see it being a SS bug because its working ok for me (but I don't usually use winamp)
Note my SS version is 4.6beta and winamp V5.621

I'm running

Version 4.6.beta1 (build 2501) – November 1, 2011
Server jetty-6.1.x, java 1.6.0_29, Windows 7 (18.7 MB / 34.8 MB)

My OS is Win & Ultiomate 64bit

Winamp is 5.621

Like I mentioned before though I can replicate this issue on Windows Media Player as well. When it worked properly it worked on both of them.

I'm taking it back. Just a minute ago I've updated to the version that I reported in the previous post. Seems like it's working now. I bet that if I installed it all over again that this would resolve the issue. I'm not sure why it happens every now and then. How can I forward a log that someone could examine ?
