Problem: Search function in SS 4.6Beta release not working. I tried to update the search index but it's still not working. It neither works in my iSub too. Nothing displayed in the log file except for "coverart failure to create thumbnail" for some files. Nothing about the search error.
Version: 4.6.beta1 (build 2508) – November 1, 2011
Server: jetty-6.1.x, java 1.6.0_29, Mac OS X (89.8 MB / 97.9 MB)
Hardware Platform: Mac OS X 10.6.8 Intel Core i5

Is there any setting that i missed to make this work?

How is it not working?

it will always say "no match found" even for songs that are truly in the server.

have you updated the search index? settings/search

yes i did, but it still showed the same thing.

i'm sorry, i made a mistake on the subject here... it's not SS4.5 beta 1 but SS4.5.

i just downgraded from 4.6 beta 1 to 4.5 and i'm getting results now from the SEARCH function. the problem is, the search would only display ARTISTS and ALBUMS - no songs. any idea why? is there some tweaking that i need to do to have the SONGS displayed when i do a search?

i tried a friend of mine's server and it does give me artists, albums and songs.

Have you got your ID tags correct?
Do you have your music directories structured as music\artist\albums\tracks? with Music as your SS media folder?

this is now working - reinstalled SS 4.5.
