Another server migration

Hi Guys,

I just moved my subsonic install from my NAS onto a vmware machine in my DMZ (bit more secure). I have succesfully migrated all the content by backing up and moving everything under /var/subsonic.

I have fired up the new server and see all the user accounts, album art and so forth. The only thing I appear to be missing is the playcounts on all of the albums.

Is there a way to get these back? I figured they might be linked to relative paths, and as my media has changed paths (ie from local to a remote share) has this broken it? I would have thought the album art would be much the same, but this appears to be intact.

Any ideas?

Cheers

I would expect that SS has rebuilt the database because of the path changes. You will most probably find that comments and ratings may have gone too.
If you still have your old database you may be able to extract the info from the old tables using SQL commands and then insert back into the new db.
Just don't ask me how as my knowledge of SQL is very limited :D

although I know my way around SQL tables this sounds like it might be more hassle than it's worth! Thanks for the information, but I think I might flag it.

maybe this can help you:

1. get old backup and restore files
1. stop your server
2. find file .\Subsonic\db\subsonic.script
3. find the lines with USER_RATING VALUES
4. edit to new file path value
5. start Server
6. Done
