"ConnectTimeoutException" unanswered by other threads

Hi everyone,

I know that this question has been posted and supposedly answered numerous times on these forums. However, after reading all of the other threads, I still cannot manage to solve my problem. I am able to connect to my server with my iPhone through my local WiFi connection, but I am having no luck with a 3g connection. I am attempting to use port 8085 and have also attempted several other ports - 4040, 80, 8080, 1545 - but to no avail. I have attempted all my tests with the "Automatically configure your router to allow incoming connections to Subsonic (using UPnP or NAT-PMP port forwarding)" box checked and unchecked just to exhaust all possibilities.

I have a Cisco Valet M10 router. I have gone into my router's settings and followed every port-forwarding guide I could find, which all tell me to do that same thing. I am confident that I have done this correctly for every port that I have attempted to use.

I have also attempted to open the relevant ports under my Norton Firewall. I am less certain that these efforts have been correct. Nonetheless, I have created several different traffic rules where I have attempted to open the relevant ports. I have tinkered with the settings, allowing connections "to," "from," and "to and from," but still no luck. Under the "what computers or sites do you want to allow access to" settings, I have attempted to use my computer's IP address and my external IP address. I have attempted modifying the allowed protocol to allow TCP, UDP, and both, but still no luck. I have been allowing these protocols to the remote port and local port (just to exhaust all possibilities) of whatever port I was attempting to use at that time. I have tried to check and uncheck the box under advanced settings that states, "when packet is from NAT traversal (e.g. Teredo)." It seems that I have exhausted all variables under my Norton firewall. Furthermore, just for the heck of it, I just turned off my firewall and am still getting the "ConnectTimeoutException" error. Thus, it seems my firewall is not the issue.

I have gone to www.canyouseeme.org, and I am told that there was an error: "I could not see your service on 4.59.213.170 on port (8085), Reason - Connection timed out." I assume this is the problem. So I suppose that leads to my ultimate question: how do I allow port 8085 to be seen through my external IP without the connection timing out?

Just FYI, my computer is running Windows 7. Any help is appreciated since I would like to use this seemingly awesome program while connected over 3g. Thanks in advance for any guidance!

If you can access via wifi then your anti virus appears to allowing SS through so it is the router that is blocking the port.

Have you read http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Cisco/M10/Subsonic.htm?
Some times you may have to reboot the router to make it all work :?

I am moving this post to HELP
