Very excited about the prospect of streaming video, but boy, do I need help! I have searched various threads and information on the internet and the more I read, the more I am getting confused. :(

I have about 75 movies that are successfully showing up on Subsonic, on any computer that I use. However, the problem is that they won't stream. The other problem is that I can not seem to download them either. I am actually more concerned with not being able to download because that is what I would probably use the most. I used to keep the movies in the cloud but due to the size of my gowing movie collection and cost of doing so, that is really not the best option. Being able to access my movies from a remote site and just download the one I want would be great! However, when I download a movie to a computer, I get an error that the zip file is invalid when I try to extract the files. I have tried this with 3 different movies on three different computers. I have also tried three different zip programs but still encounter the same issue.

As for the streaming, even when I want to explore the movie files, I'm not able to see them all which must be part of the problem. For example, the name of the movie shows but then when I click through the subfolders and eventually get to the video_ts subdirectory, no files are shown. Can I not use movies formatted in _ts? That would be a shame because my entire collection is that way and I want to simplify this process as much as possible.

The part I really don't understand and leaves me scratching my head is not being able to extract the zip file that I download from subsonic. I'm sure I'm missing something very obvious because I feel way over my head on this and don't know where to start. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated!

Its not something I do normally but I just selected a couple of video tracks and downloaded them.
Using Winrar they opened np and played ok in vlc.
You have to add the file formats for SS to see the files - so have you added vob and ifo file extensions in settings/general?
