Getting subsonic to run from external domain - Not redirect?

I would like my subsonic setup to be able to run with the url in the address bar staying as name.subsonic.org (or my own domain name preferably) and just add the appropriate parts to the url.

At the moment if i point myself to name.subsonic.org it just redirects me to http://myip:port/login.view when it should be name.subsonic.org/login.view

Is there a trick to getting this to work?

That is a feature of your router and it's because you are within your own lan.
The "trick" is to access subsonic from outside your lan when the address bar will then show your subsonic.org address.

Strange, when I try it through my phone (3G) it replaces the url with my IP.

As it does when i try to access it via a proxy.

Perhaps i've set something up wrong? I'm using port 8085 not port 80, if that makes a redirect any different?

If you tell it to run on ports 80 (http) and 443 (https) (and/or implement the proper redirects), you should just be able to point your own domain to that using whatever domain name management tool you are using. If you have a website running on that machine already, however, you will have to fiddle some more with things like transparent proxies and such ;)
