<-------------------------Subsonic Help Request---------------------->
Problem Description: Cannot play *any* FLAC files either through the web interface or iSub. Looks like the transcoder starts but I never hear a thing coming from it.
Troubleshooting Steps: Have tried a bunch of different versions of FFMPEG & LAME.
Playback Application and version: Web interface and iSub
Subsonic Version: 4.6 (build 2583) – December 6, 2011
Server Version: jetty-6.1.x, java 1.6.0_27, Linux (89.9 MB / 213.1 MB)
Hardware Platform: unRAID (Slackware Linux 13.31)
Java Memory Limit: I've set this to 256MB in the subsonic.sh (if that's what we're talking about)
Problem Filename: any FLAC file
Output from ffmpeg -i:
Code: Select all

Have you tried any other non mp3 audio files eg ogg, wav, wma?

Yeah unfortunately *anything* that needs transcoding doesn't work(incl. Apple Lossless, APE, etc)

How about videos (non flash)
I would be surprised if they work.
It looks if you have a problem with your ffmpeg install.
Do a forum search - there are quite a few posts about that on various linux builds - something to do with symlinks.
As a windows user it mostly "Klingon" to me :?

So my solution ended up being to reset the transcoding command line to default! Looks like I had some added command line arguments from previous versions.
