Android App Questions/Problems

Hi,

I am on Day 1 of trialling this app as it is EXACTLY what I want. as always though with anything new, there are questions....

I am getting an AWFUL lot of "network error" when browsing directories on my phone/tablet. Sometimes I might get a directory listing immediately, other times after 2 attempts, sometimes 3,4 sometimes it just wont connect. Anything I can do to "fix" this?

Also, when it does work it works perectly!! I just wanted to know if there was a way of fast forwarding/rewinding videos as I dont always get to watch movies in one go & restarting from the beginning each time is just not practical. Also is it possible to let the app use mobo player for the videos?

Cheers!

The only way to fix your "network error" problems would be to either further subdivide your media into smaller chunks or increase the speed of your system where it is bottlenecking (usually disk subsystem).

As to fast forward and rewind, in the mobile video player window there is a drop down in the lower left corner to select the start minute of the video you are watching. Then you can fast forward from where you choose to start using the player controls.

HTH,

Glenn

Hi,

Thats brilliant about the time start (Cant believe I never noticed that!)

as for the bottleneck, I am running an HP Server which streams HD Content all around the house daily without any issues so I cant see that I have a bottleneck problem.

Also before I forget is there an option to pause the video & it will still carry on buffering like on youtube for example?

Does anyone know about the buffering possibility? Also I have noticed that the network timeout errors are dependant on the size of the directory listings, does subsonic cache the directory listings? is there a way to allow more time before timing out? not sure why this does timeout anyway as I am on WIFI connection to my home network to a server that streams HD content without sweating so why would my phone/tablet timeout just trying to do a directory listing?
