No Content in Imported Playlists

Hi,

I've done a lot of reading on these boards as to why SS isn't seeing the content (music) in m3u playlists i've created using Winamp. It reads like it has to do with the entire path not being part of of the playlist file generated by Winamp. Ok...

The only solutions I find are to do a search and replace in a txt file (open my playlists within a text file), or to download media monkey, import my playlists, then export them again with some setting applied that is available in media monkey that will force a full path to be included in the playlist file so that SS can then read the content and find the files.

See, I have two kids and a full time job...not that I don't have the ability to do all this but I don't have the time and it feels a bit off to me to do this after paying for the ability to stream to my phone.

So before I tell all my friends and pay for the mobile license, is this what I am going to have to do if I want to use SS to get my playlists to my phone, or is there another solution or setting that can be changed to accept the paths as they are when exported from Winamp?

It's a cool program, much better than winamp remote, and i'd probably run it so I could stream from work but..i'd love to find an easy solution so I can stream my stacks to the BT stereo in my car.

So if anyone's feeling charitable I'd appreciate it.

It seems that you know both the problem and the solution so your post is a bit of a puzzle.
If you create a playlist in subsonic it will work.
If you create a playlist in another application then that app has to use the same file path as SS.
If you create a playlist in MM and export using the export playlist script with the correct filepath settings that too will work as you have said.

Oh I feel for you  So you expect Subsonic to open a playlist created in any application YOU decide
If you set up SS to use full UNC paths to your media and setup the other app to use the same then its possible that the playlists may become compatible
otherwise I suggest you post in the Winamp forum as it is not a SS problem.
