Heres my problem, I have changed every possible setting I can think of, port setting, firewall, router settings, uninstalled java and re installed. Nothing allows me to connect to my subsonic from my external IP address. I have it running on port 8080 and 8081 but it still will not run. Though it does run locally.

<-------------------------Subsonic Help Request---------------------->
Problem Description: Cannot connect to subsonic from external ip
Troubleshooting Steps:
1. Used multiple different ports in subsonic
2. Changed router settings multiple times
3. Uninstalled and Re installed Java and Subsonic
4. Tried Subsonic on another PC.

Hardware Platform: Windows 7 32-bit

You are forwarding the port to your internal IP correct?
Other than that have you tried setting your internal IP to the dmz? (shouldn't have to but worth s shot)....

Also have you tried port 9000.....

Also in subsonic control panel on you're server you have the right port
set to match what your forwarding

Peace
Bye

The port is being forwarded to my internal ip and I currently tried 9000 and still no luck. Also subsonic control panel is configured to the same port as I am forwarding.
I'm not sure on how to use dmz but I believe I just set it up properly but to no avail, still won't connect.

Use http://canyouseeme.org to test
If it doesn't pass that test then SS will definitely not work.
Also check with http://portforward.com to check you are opening your ports correctly.
Can you access SS from another pc from within your own lan?
If you can then your firewall is ok
Also check your server is on a static IP because if it isn't then, if your internal iP changes, it will break the port forwarding rules in your router.

I tried xampp but that does not seem to help. Windows firewall is configured right, even tried it completely disabled. Subsonic standalone didn't seem to work but I was unsure how to use it also.

I just tried canyouseeme.org and it come back with an error and that the connection timed out. According to portforward.com everything is correct.
I can access SS within my own lan so that is working, and it is running a static ip.
So as of right now I am at a loss, it looks like my service provider is blocking all the ports I have tried.
Anyway I can find an open one to use?

*edit* but what also doesnt make sense is that I can run teamviewer perfectly fine on my network which I believe runs on 80.

If you do be careful with what you say as running a server on a home agreement is usually excluded in your t&c.
ISPs quite often will block port 80 outgoing for that reason which is why we advise using another port.
Have you tried re-booting the router (power cycle)?

A good ISP won't care.
Possibly different if your overseas.
True high speed internet in the states will already have port 80 open by default.

I can tell you that in Manhattan, many ISPs have port 80 open because many businesses use consumer DSL or FiOS. In lower Manhattan (where I live) I never have to worry about ports or anything of the sort. :)

I tried power cycling the router but that didnt help.
So I'll try contacting my isp, see if they have anything to say.
I'll let you know what happens.
Thanks for all the advice.
