Hi guys

Firstly i'd like to say what a great piece of software and easy it is to use - had a great couple tips off some people on the forum (sorting buffering out and other issues)

Now i've got a couple little issues that you might be able to help with.

Firstly - when playing AVI's i've noticed it plays very quiet? On a laptop i have to turn the volume to the max and all windows sounds etc are super loud but videos i have to lean quite close to hear it?

Second - Regarding MKV's I love to watch bleach anime and its all in japanese AKA english subtitles. I cant seem to be able to view the subs that are embedded into the MKV is there anything i can do to fix this?

I think that the avi volume issue has to do with the volume of the original avi file. I have some files that have low volumes on any player.

I don't know if embedded subtitles are supported by JW player, but try googling it for more info.

Are you able to compare the original and Subsonic output back to back? Preferably in a client that doesn't apply any artificial volume boosting. As ytechie suggests it's probably the source file that's also quite.

To the OP - I presume you are using the web player?
Have you checked the volume in the web video player ?
It appears to be separate from the audio player and is not tied in directly with the Windows master volume control.
I tend to set both the audio and video audio volume levels to 100% in SS and then control using the Windows volume slider.

AVI problem was indeed the file itself - other files are fine many thanks.

I'll have a read through the subtitle thread many thanks for that.

One final issue is - isit possible to set different user's different folder access? for example i have access to whole drive but a friend has access to only "movies" or "series" etc?

Setting different folder permissions per user is not possible. Yet.
