My entire music collection is in FLAC. I wish to stream my collection as V0 .mp3s so I set up the command lines like so:

Convert from: flac
Step 1: flac --decode -F --stdout %s
Step 2: lame -V 0 --vbr-new --ignore-tag-errors - -

This however doesn't seem to work as when I try to play a track it loads the song then doesn't play and will skip to next song in playlist, load that song, won't play and then load the next. So on, so on.

I have the latest LAME encoder inside the correct folder within where Subsonic is located on my computer. What gives?

I don't know if this will fix the problem, but you have to add a hyphen (-) to the end of each step. Here is what it should look like:

Still nothing. It just loads the song to 100% then skips it altogether and loads the next song. These are my newly updated settings:

Step 2: lame -V 2 --vbr-new --ignore-tag-errors -

What player are you using?

I just tried the settings, and it works in the web player.

I used these settings:

I'm not quite sure what you mean. It's the web player.

OK. Try copying and pasting the transcode settings from my previous post. I added a hyphen.

My Internet at this place is extremely slow. Loading a song now with those exact command lines.

EDIT: Nope. Just loads then doesn't play and skips to next and does it allover again.

How annoying.

That's really odd. I am streaming flacs using those exact settings, and it's working fine. What version of subsonic are you using?

Hmm. :/ Is there anything else I needed to do on my computer? All I did was get the latest lame.exe and drop it in the correct folder.

I don't know why subsonic thinks you are trying to stream only a range. I am looking at the source code, but I don't know enough about file formats to fully understand what might be going on here.

What does range mean? Oh this is so fustrating.
