recommended Java version?

Hello,
when I installed Subsonic 4.6, the installation automatically pulled also Java in version 1.6 (1.6.0_27-b07, 32bit). Subsonic works just fine, however Java complains about being outdated. There are multiple newer versions (listed on http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/index.html): Java 6 1.6.0_30, Java 7 update 2, and if you look in depth, both come in 32 and 64 bit versions. I guess the update will just go for 1.6.0_30 and stick to 32bit, but would you recommend any of the other versions? Does Java 7 perform better with Subsonic? Will Subsonic automatically use a better version?
Thanks, jol

I've never had any problems using the latest versions from here:

Java 7 is not yet recomended for end users:

Thanks, this reduces the question to 32 vs. 64 bit - what do you recommend? I am not using the browser on my server, thus the question is only what fits better to Subsonic.
Thanks, jol

You only meed to install the 64 bit version if you use a 64 bit browser sich as IE 64 bit. You shouldn't need it on the server.
