"No media folders found" [Resolved]

Postby houdini2930 » Sun Feb 05, 2012 10:39 pm

My Subsonic used to work just fine on my Windows 7 HTPC. I then uninstalled Subsonic a few months ago but now I've reinstalled it (version 4.6). The setup is the exact same but now, no matter what I do I can't get Subsonic to use the folders I'm specifying. My music is kept on a NAS unit, attached via Ethernet. I've tried both of the following folders:

\\Storage-Box\Storage\Audio Files\Music
Y:\Audio Files\Music

I've tried restarting several times. I've tried mounting the shares in various ways (using Drobo Dashboard, using authentication, using no authentication) and no matter what, Subsonic refuses to use these shares. I've got other software like Air Video Server that can read files of this NAS device no problem.

Help? I love this software but 4.6 seems broken for me.

Could it be because it is scanning the media source? This is a pretty low-powered box and there's a lot of music in this folder. Perhaps I will just wait overnight to see if it shows up later? So strange. I can verify that the path is correct.

It looks to me more like a permissions problem.
Make sure that the user account that the SS service is running under has got permission to access the NAS.

Due to the confusion from too many genres of music, we have decided to put both country music and rap music into the genre of Crap music.

I've got my network share setup so that all users can access it. The Subsonic service is set to "Log on as: Local User Account" and under this account, I'm accessing the NAS no problem. I tried to enter different "log on as" credentials for the service (the "admin" account for the Drobo) but it won't let me use those credentials because the user "admin" "does not exist".

Reading the forums here, it looks like I'm not the only one with issues of NAS access.

SOLVED.

I manually entered the username and password of the user I'm currently logged in as under the "Log On" tab of the Subsonic service. That worked.

Strange that I would have to re-enter this information manually in order to get this to work?
