Lame loosing some ID3 tags

I've noticed that sometimes the ID3 tags are lost when downsampling songs to my Android phone.

I have downloaded multiple albums (trough Wifi) which had to be downsampled. Adter downloading them to the Android cache,

- Some of the albums, none of the songs have a ID3 tag
- Other albums, some of the songs have a ID3 tag
- A few other albums, all of the songs have a ID3 tag

I can't find anything that would point out to the reason for this inconsistency. The subsonic.log file reads the same for each song. No error's.

From the output below;
04-Birdy-Birdy-White Winter Hymnal.mp3 lost all ID3 tags while
05-Birdy-Birdy-The District Sleeps Alone Tonight.mp3 does have the ID3 tag

Code: Select all
[2012-02-12 13:05:26,650] INFO PlaylistInputStream - eRJe listening to "Birdy/04-Birdy-Birdy-White Winter Hymnal.mp3"
[2012-02-12 13:05:26,652] DEBUG TranscodeInputStream - Starting transcoder: [/opt/subsonic/transcode/lame] [-S] [-h] [--resample] [44.1] [-b] [192] [--tt] [White Winter Hymnal] [--ta] [Birdy] [--tl] [Birdy] [/mnt/auvi/music/mp3/Birdy/Birdy/04-Birdy-Birdy-White Winter Hymnal.mp3] [-]

Normally I wouldn't bother since Subsonic doesn't really use the ID3 tags but other apps on my phone don't work that well without the ID3 tags.

Has anyone seen this before and perhaps has a solution?

Try adding the SubWiji transcoding step to your settings/transcoding page and enabling it for your android player.
This appears to make ffmpeg do the downsampling and may solve your problems

Code: Select all
Transcoder ConvertFrom "mp3" - ConvertTo "mp3" - Step1 "ffmpeg -f mp3 -i %s -ab %bk -v 0 -f mp3 -"

Thank you. This fixed my issue that had the same symptoms.

I needed to add in mp3 into the co0nvertfrom column as it was not present on any of the original settings.
