Bought domain to my server, wont stream music?

Postby aiden » Sun Feb 12, 2012 10:43 pm

So iv'e been using Subsonic for a while now, been working great all the time!

So iv'e decided to buy a domain, so it would look nice, instead of the ip-adress.

When im using the ip-adress:portnumber everything works fine.
But when i go to my domainname music.**********.eu(it's a subdomain), it loads the site everything works, except the streaming.

It wont stream any sound, the site works like normal, except for the streaming part.

How do i solve this? :D
Thanks in advance!

Strange problem. Have you tried just setting up a subsonic.org name?

Settings/Network

Try the redirect service to see if that works.

I dont want a subsonic name, thats pretty much why i bought the domainname.
It's like it wont accept, streamers from somewhere i dont know :?:

EDiT: When i try to log into the phone with the domain.
I get some wierd error.
"There was an error parsing the API check XML response.
Error: The operation couldn't be completed.
(NSXMLParserErrorDomain error 76.)"

I wasn't suggesting a solution. I was recomending a step that may help analyze the problem.

Whether you type in the ip address and port number, use http redirection, or DNS to use a domain name, the result is still the same; you're connecting two systems together so they can communicate with each other. I don't kow all the details of your particular installation, but from what little information you have provided it seems rather odd that using your domain name would block content from streaming - UNLESS you are somehow accessing a communication pathway that is puposely blocking content.

If ip:port# and servername.subsonic.org both work, then the only logical explanation for your domain name not working would be as I suggested above, even though I find even that a bit hard to explain.

Best of luck.
